Flight Simulator Instructor
Summary/ Objective:
Oxbridge Academy, a non-profit, independent grade 6-12 school in West Palm Beach, Florida, seeks to hire a full-time, experienced Flight Simulator Teacher. Employee is responsible for instructing aviation students using Oxbridge’s flight simulator and preparing students to take the FAA written exam and flight exam, while understanding the Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee Handbook and other school policies of Oxbridge Academy, ensuring the adherence of these policies in performance, action and self-conduct. The Oxbridge faculty creates and manages a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives.
Tasks/Essential Functions:
- Conducts simulator phase of pilot flight instruction in compliance with course policies, procedures, and techniques.
- Ensures compliance with FAA and other applicable government requirements relating to training.
- Gives detailed briefings on all phases of flight simulator training.
- Obtains required training manuals, course materials and supplies as necessary to conduct assigned training syllabus.
- Completes required training records and reports.
- Determines and reports on student progress and proficiency.
- Provides specialized instructions and counseling of students.
- Makes suggestions through channels to enhance safety and efficiency.
- Assists in program development for all phases of flight instruction as directed by the aviation program. This may include lessons with small groups covering topics which prepare students for their exams.
- Performs routine flight checks to the REDBird simulator and maintains contact with the servicing group in order to ensure top performance of the machine.
- Be present at Oxbridge events such as open houses to promote the aviation program.
- Prepare learning activities in an environment that fosters collaboration, inquiry, innovation, and personal discovery.
- Adapt and differentiate teaching methods and instructional material to meet students varying needs, abilities, and interests.
- Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate within the department, school community, and greater community on multidisciplinary projects and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records in the current student information system as required by law, policies, and administrative regulations.
- Observe students in a variety of educational environments and evaluate their academic performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior, cultivating Oxbridge’s core values of kindness, courtesy, integrity, respect, and compassion.
- Advise a group of students and keep parents and legal guardians informed about student’s progress.
- Pursue relevant professional development to maintain expertise in subject matter, curriculum development, and teaching methods.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Responsible for the FAA test prep independent study for students
- Certified Flight instructor
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate improved learning, habits, and measurements of achievement.
- Classroom management skills required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment.

Short Term Substitute Teacher
Oxbridge Academy is seeking qualified applicants for on-call and daily substitute teachers for upper school, grades 6 through 12. Employee will provide classroom coverage when Oxbridge Academy teachers are out for a short period of time. It is a stipend only position. Benefits are not offered.
Requirements/Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year university
At least one year of relevant experience
Successful candidates will have a proven record and knowledge of best practices in teaching and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable them to quickly establish rapport with students.
Proven ability to teach and engage upper school learners
Proven ability to engage students in meaningful classroom activities and manage a classroom
Effective interpersonal and communication skills

Middle School Learning Support Teacher
Oxbridge Academy, a non-profit, independent grade 6-12 school in West Palm Beach, Florida, seeks to hire a full-time, experienced Middle School Learning Support Teacher. Employee is responsible for understanding the Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee Handbook and other school policies of Oxbridge Academy, ensuring the adherence of these policies in performance, action and self-conduct. The learning support function is to provide support to students with diagnosed learning differences. Learning support identifies students that may need academic support and sets up a framework to implement this support. The Middle School Learning Support Teacher must be able to provide academic assistance in all subjects.
Tasks/Essential Functions:
- In collaboration with the Learning Support Team, create and implement a comprehensive, systematic program to provide interventions and supplemental instruction for the Oxbridge Middle School.
- Lead the learning support program within the middle school and demonstrate enthusiasm for middle school learners and the curriculum.
- Assess and evaluate individual needs for support and develop individual learning plans to provide such support.
- Provide academic support in both a classroom inclusion setting and small-group setting.
- Act as a case manager and advocate for Middle School students with diagnosed exceptionalities.
- Monitor students’ progress across the curriculum.
- Collaborate as a team member within the wider school community and consult with other relevant individuals such as educational psychologists and parents.
- Attend professional development through in service courses, webinars, seminars, or formal education..
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree: teaching certificate is preferred. Degree in Special Education or ESE certification preferred.
- At least three years proven experience working with middle school children with exceptionalities.
- Knowledge and experience with differentiated instruction and students with learning differences.
- Experience interpreting psychological evaluations and writing IEPs or Accommodation Plans.
