Applicants for grades 9, 10 and 11 are eligible to apply. Limited to the most exemplary applicants, merit scholarships are awarded in the amount of $5,000 or $10,000. Scholarships renew annually provided recipients maintain an outstanding academic and behavior record. Applicants may apply for both a merit scholarship and need-based financial aid. 

• You must have a current admission application on file before applying for a merit scholarship.
• Merit applications must be completed within the application pool you have selected (Early or Rolling). 

• Outstanding academic record across a range of subject areas 
• Strong character and citizenship 
• Demonstrated leadership 
• Evidence of contribution(s) to school or local community 

All Merit Scholarship Applicants are required to submit the following:

1.  Write your essay and be prepared to upload it at the end of the Merit Scholarship Application Form.

Essay Topic:

• Oxbridge Academy’s vision is to graduate students who will meet the world boldly with initiative and kindness. Reflect upon a time when you demonstrated leadership, took initiative, or exhibited kindness. Explain how the experience changed you and what lesson(s) you learned. 

Essay Criteria:

• Your full name must be at the top of the document. 
• Include the word count at the bottom.
• Name your file: Last name, First name Merit (ex. Smith, John Merit).
• Save as PDF or Word document.
• Minimum of 400 words.

2. Be prepared to answer the following questions on the form:

• Tell us about your extracurricular involvement including details including years of participation, teams, organizations, clubs, etc.
• Tell us about your awards and accomplishments.
• How do you demonstrate leadership and strong character inside and outside of the classroom?
• How will you contribute to Oxbridge?
• Why do you feel you are deserving of this merit scholarship?

3. Complete and submit the Merit Scholarship Application Form.
