The mission of the Music department is to provide students with a personalized learning environment that fosters meaningful experiences in performance and non-performance areas of music. We will develop students into life-long music participants who can intelligently discuss and engage in a wide variety of music. Oxbridge Academy students will develop a deeper understanding of the value and inspiration that music provides globally in supporting cultural and societal unity. We will enhance the ability of students to develop critical cognitive skills by emphasizing and establishing an environment of collaborative learning, critical thinking, and real-world professional partnerships.

Teaching Philosophy: As a music teacher, it is my belief that all students, regardless of physical or intellectual ability, should be offered the opportunity to discover and explore their potential as musicians, and to increase these natural capacities through formal music instruction. The goal of music education is not only to form an appreciation of the music of others, but also encourage students to shape their own musical identity, through study and performance opportunities.
