Oxbridge Academy announced today that it is reinstating the football program in the fall of 2022. The Thunderwolves got out of the game in 2018 for safety reasons and reorganization decisions. Now, the pack is back! It will be an epic return to the gridiron for a school that is defined by its winning spirit.

“When we began planning for our 10-year anniversary and identified ways to build on our strong foundation, adding a middle school and bringing back our football program were a big part of the conversation,” explained Oxbridge Head of School Ralph Maurer.

The school’s 10-year milestone also coincided with several other important factors: more families moving into the area and an increasing demand for private school education. The timing is right, and so is the mission.

Oxbridge is proud of its athletic teams. The athletic program also includes baseball, basketball, cross-country, equestrian, golf, lacrosse, sailing, soccer, softball, swimming, track & field, tennis, girls’ volleyball, and girls’ flag football. Over the years, many Oxbridge student-athletes have received scholarships to play at the next level in college.

Oxbridge Academy was a founding member of the Palm League in 2018. The league was formed to build competition amongst other private schools in South Florida. Now with ten members, eight of which offer football, the league continues to offer guidance and support in competition for all sports. Oxbridge Academy will build a football program with the intent to compete with the other peer schools in the Palm League that offer football.
