College Counseling

The College Counseling Department is part of the academic advising, student services, and college counseling office (ASC). The goal of the ASC is to ensure that Oxbridge students and their parents have access to pertinent, practical, and well-timed information that will allow students to move on to post-Oxbridge Academy destinations that match our students’ talents, interests, and goals.

The ASC team works with students, parents, teachers, coaches, and others to help each Oxbridge student build a balanced high school experience, including developing a rigorous academic course plan, a strategy for deep extracurricular engagement, and a thoughtful approach to post-secondary goals. The ASC team helps each student design and shape their learning in high school, which includes close attention to academic schedules and aspirations, extracurricular activities, including athletics, community service, and summer experiences.

By reaching the formal college counseling process as juniors, each Oxbridge student has been guided and advised to build a balanced, challenging high school experience that makes a solid foundation for post-secondary goals. Students discover the right college fit for their futures alongside their assigned ASC team member. Students receive help through all parts of the college admissions process, from evaluating various colleges to preparing applications to making the proper selection. We also counsel parents on what to expect throughout the process and provide valuable resources for financial aid and scholarships.

The College Counseling team recognizes that choosing the right college is a personal and sometimes complex. That’s why we strongly believe in helping each student find the post-secondary path that best matches their unique needs and wants.
